AVIF to JPG Converter
AVIF is the newest web format — and the least supported by desktop apps.
Drop your AVIF files here
or choose files — up to 100 at once, 100 MB each
No upload. Files are processed in your browser.
Files never leave your device · EXIF and GPS removed
Works on Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge · No installation
AVIF compresses better than WebP and JPG, which is why image-heavy sites have started serving it. The catch is support: older Photoshop versions, Windows photo viewers and many upload forms cannot open it.
This tool decodes AVIF using the browser’s native decoder and re-encodes to JPG, all on your device.
Why convert AVIF?
Desktop apps refuse it
AVIF support only arrived in Photoshop 23.5 and recent OS releases.
Upload forms reject it
.avif is rarely on the accepted-format list.
Sharing
JPG works in every chat app, email client and printer.

Questions
Why can’t my computer open AVIF?
AVIF is recent; older operating systems and applications simply lack a decoder.
Does my browser support AVIF decoding?
Chrome 85+, Firefox 93+, Safari 16.4+ and Edge 121+ can decode AVIF. If yours cannot, the tool will show an error instead of failing silently.
Can I convert JPG to AVIF here?
Not yet — encoding AVIF in the browser is slow and poorly supported.
