Converting JPG to PNG does not restore lost detail — the compression already happened. What it does is change the container so a picky upload form or editor will accept the file, and prevent further quality loss if you plan to re-save it repeatedly.
Expect the PNG to be several times larger than the JPG. If size matters, keep the JPG.

Plenty of internal tools and print services only list PNG.
You will edit and re-save

Questions
Does this improve image quality?
No. It only changes the container; detail lost in the original JPG stays lost.
Why is the PNG bigger?
PNG stores pixels losslessly, so it cannot compress photographic data as aggressively as JPG.
Can I convert back?
Yes, use the PNG to JPG tool — but each JPG round-trip loses a little quality.
